ABOUT
Downsizing and simplifying life is a key component to minimizing stress and, therefore aging with more grace, happiness and preparedness.
My husband and I have lived in a half dozen homes in the 17 years we've been together.
As second partnerships go, ours started out in my adorable terrace home conveniently located in a treed but busy area of suburbia. We had a two bedroom two storey place which I will describe in more detail later.
Within a few months we relocated to new hubby's family home which he had won in the divorce settlement. This was a large, lovely country house in the province of Quebec which we enjoyed for a number of years.
We then moved to a little cottage on a lovely river which was surprisingly close to the downtown area of our closest large city.
My children began having babies and I suggested we move closer to the new babies back to my home province of Ontario. We built a gorgeous two bedroom bungalow with loads of property to maintain and a hefty mortgage to manage.
In the past few years, hubby has had a major medical setback and we've decided we prefer to live mortgage and maintenance free so we are moving back to the original terrace home which had been passed from me to my son, then to my daughter and, now back to me.
This blog is about simplifying the life we've created and downsizing everything from material goods, meat intake, commitments and especially, physical living space.
